What is the best 3D modelling/CAD software?
I’ve been using Google Sketchup Pro for just over a year and I think I’m ready to move onto a better, more professional software. What do you recommend?
Which CAD/CAE program is the best for aerodyamic modeling?
I am looking for a program in which I can create a solid model (like any CAD package) and then do aerodynamic modeling (ie simulating a wind tunnel). This may also require more complex surface modeling.
Thanks
Autocad HELP! What’s the best way to thicken 3d objects?
In autocad2007, I made a 3d model of a product made out of sheet metal with thickness 1/32 of inch (.03125″).
Unfortunately, a problem arose and my boss’s solution was to replace the original sheet metal with a thicker sheet metal!! (.040″)
Now doing the drafting changes will take FOREVER because the product is quite complicated and assembled of many different parts. What would be the best method/process/action that I could use to “thicken” the 3d objects??
The 3d objects were originally made generally like this…
lines -> pedit -> join -> extrude ….
i’ve been thinking about using the “thicken” feature.. but it doesn’t work with already 3d objects… i’ve tried to “extract surfaces” from the 3d objects, but Autocad keeps telling me that I cannot do that… o.O
HOW SHOULD I DO THIS?! PLEASE HELP!!!
ok please don’t link me to other sites…
so i’ve decided to use the “extrude face” feature, and as long as i am meticulous and careful about extruding the correct faces of each object, i can safely make everything thicker without ruining the assembly.
However, i have ran into another problem. the “extrude face” command does not apply to non-planar surfaces… for example, filleted corners!!… how can i thicken the corners that are filleted?
AHA!. ok.. to work with the fillet edges, you can offset the filleted face. viola problem solved!
Which is then best 3D computer graphics software?
I need a program for modeling, UV unwrapping, texturing, rigging, skinning, animating, rendering, particle and other simulating, non-linear editing, compositing, and creating interactive 3D applications.
What is the best or the most common 3D modeling program for architects?
I am looking for a advanced 3D modeling program. My friends recommended rhinoceros and 3D Studio Max.
Thanks in advance.
2d vs 3d video games which do you like best?
Just wondering what styles people like more for video games. I prefer 2d myself cause there’s a lot more you can do effect wise and art style wise, in 3D you can’t get too crazy or else the models will be all broken and won’t work, plus some texturing on 3d looks really bad.
What 3d models sell best?
I sell planets and simple objects that are easy to make but have hi res textures and look good. I know characters are harder to make and are usually 50k+ in poly’s to look any good. I mean film ready. I have a car model that has nearly 1 million poly’s that cost $89. What objects should I make.
Should I model all in max and maya or export them and add detail in zbrush or mudbox. Then they will really be very high poly.
Whats the best 3d game designing program?
Right now I’m using 3d game studio a6 and i want something better and easier so if anyone knows a great 3d game designing program can use please tell me? (it doesn’t have to be free)
Also can some one use 3d studio max models for games?
Which 3D modeling software is the best to learn on?
I’m a game development student, and I’d really like to start making some of my own low-poly character models. I’m a decent artist, but I’ve never had much luck in figuring out the world of 3D. What’s the best piece(s) of software for me to learn 3D modeling, texturing, and animation?
