3d modelling

Quality 3d models download in .MAX and .3ds format, 3d wallpaper animation tutorial and more..

I am a beginning animator/modeler looking for some 3d animation software that is easy enough for a beginner?

Hi
I want to begin doing animation and 3d modeling and I am looking for a software title that is
- Easy enough for beginners to learn.
- Easy enough so that I will be able to use it fairly well within a couple months of first using it.
- All in one software for example I won’t need to purchase any additional plugins although one or two won’t hurt but I rather not spend the extra cash as the main money will be on the software.
- Something with good documentation and tutorials for beginners.
- Something that will allow creation of models, lipsync of those models and animation of those models.

I am thinking within the lines of Daz Carrara, 3d Studio Max, Poser Pro, Maxon Cinema 4d, or Lightwave.

If you have any other choices please let me know, but those choices are the ones that are my favorite.

Thanks for your help

For 3D animation work, how important is it to be multi-talented?

I would like to be a 3D animator or modeler but most of the portfolios I see from professionals working in the 3D animation industry are awesome and way above my current skills. They seem to be able to do anything, they can model, light, texture, animate, use particle systems etc. Many pros can also draw, paint or sculpt at a professional level as well. I would love to work as an artist for an animation studio but I can’t do all that. I can draw a little bit and if I spend enough time, make a very basic character animation.

Do you need to be so multi-talented to find work in the 3D animation industry?

Could I find work with just some basic drawing skills and a simple, short animation?

Creating Animation using 3D Studio Max?

Well, as part of my first year of Uni. I have successfully managed to model many items as part of my coursework. However, I had been wondering how hard it is actually animating using 3D Studio Max?

I have looked all over youtube and found a few animation videos, and judging by the legnth of those videos, I reckon it is one hell of a ‘workhorse’ (in other words, it looks like a 3 min video would take ages to produce).

Anyway, the whole point of this question is to ask you experts out there your opinion on animating using 3Dsmx? Is it really hard etc.

Thanks

3D Studio Max 9 Fur Help?

Hi, i just started learning 3ds max before i go off to uni to do 3d modelling and animation, and was wondering if you lovely people can help.

Since its a very easy thing to do, l like making a sphere and applying a fur preset to it, and make a quick animation of it moving about to show off and demonstrate what im doing ect.

The problem is that the fur ‘falls into’ the sphere as if it isn’t a solid object . I was wondering how to fix this as it makes the sphere get bald spots through the animation. Thanks alot for reading!

3D animation texturing with Maya?

I have a question and if there are any 3d animators just answer me.

I have an issue with texturing with regard to 3D animations with Maya.

I recently modeled a face and textured it (it was polygon model with subdiv proxy on). After texturing the subdiv model I found out when I made my animation speak that the texture stays at the same place. I.e. When the mouth moves – the lipstick doesnt move with the lips.

Kindly let me know how can I get around this problem
