i got autocad 2009 trial and i made a simple 3d model and i want to know how render the picture or get it so that the wireframe disappears and gets replaced with textures.
please show a step by step way how to do it.

I’ve made a 3D model in 3ds Max, made up out of all different objects. Most of these objects use different textures, but when I attach them, they all start to use the same texture.. which isn’t really what I want

Is it possible to group these objects into a single model, without screwing up the textures, so I can move them around as one? Any help will be much appreciated! Thanks

I am making a 3D model with 3D studio max that will be constrained to the requirements of next gen gaming and I wanted to know what requirements and or limitations I should work under for that model.
I will be making a multilegged character (more than 4-6 legs) with mechanical parts, I just wondered what the restrictions were on game models both character and landscape.
Ok, so what about if I want it to be consol friendly. Mesh or editable poly? How much of my detail should be reliant on the texture? Etc.

I am making lots of inquiries about getting an electronic 3D model done of a residence (for the architect). He wants it in Form.Z. One company replied that they work in Studio Max and they don’t know if it’s compatible. Sounds like it’s either one or the other, right?

Hi, I’m completely new to 3D and everything related to it. I like it very much, that’s the reason I want to learn more about it.

I want to ask you, where to start with it? Is it modeling, texture, render, light… What’s the first step to 3D?
As far as I know you first have to build a model, and then follow the other steps (don’t know their order – need help with that too).
I never made a 3D model or anything related before, so please explain it from step 1.

I need your help to know where to start. Some tutorials (for ABSOLUTE NOOB) are welcomed.

P.S.: I got Blender & 3Ds Max (both latest version). Any other software recommendations are welcomed too!
